Forbidden City

The Forbidden City is the pride of the Chinese nation and a precious cultural heritage of all mankind. Today, the forbidden area of the former imperial palace covers an area of 1.12 million square metres, which is not only a collection of Ming and Qing royal treasures but also a fresh archive recording the history of the Ming and Qing courts. It is the largest and best-preserved wooden palace complex in the world.
